In medical ethics and bioethics there are a number of institutes, which are fulfilling the increasing need for counseling, information and research in these areas. In the area of psychoethics however, i.e. in the ethics of psychiatry and psychotherapy, there has hardly been a specialized institution yet which is dedicated to this fields.

 

The Institute for Medical Ethics, Psychotherapy and Health Culture (IEPG) in Mannheim has been founded in order to present information and orientation in this field of activities to professionals and to the public. It offers expert training and vocational education in the areas of psychoethics for doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists and other professionals working in various fields of therapy, care and social work.

 

As the medical director of the IEPG, I invite you to use the various offers of our institute in Mannheim. However, even if you are rather more generally interested in ethical questions about science, politics, economics, and the arts, we are pleased to welcome you to participate in our shared discussions and challenging cooperation.
